An important point raised in the article is: Does money make our jobs more enjoyable? Or can higher salaries actually demotivate us?
Your task is to apply insights from two motivation theories to critically analyse the above question. Your answer should show an understanding of the two theories and also demonstrate a reflection on the strengths and limitations of each theory with reference to the points made in the article. Some guidelines for the essay:
? It is important that you use refereed journal articles for the basis of your academic discussion. You should be aiming to draw on at least 10 refereed journal articles. You need to ensure that you make it clear how the content and contribution of these articles is related to the essay question.
? You should only use two Management textbooks at the most.
? Make sure you appropriately cite theoretical models and research findings presented in the unit to date that support your argument.
? Warning! Answers that simply reflect opinion and that do not draw on the accumulated body of scientific knowledge on organisational behaviour will be penalised.
